EWD's so-called Event Broker functionality allows you to call directly to the back-end scripting environment as an Event Handler within the page. The back-end script that you invoke will normally return a string of Javascript which is automatically executed (using eval()) on the browser.

The Event Broker therefore can be thought of as a way of dynamically creating Javascript from your back-end scripting environment, triggered by an event within the browser.

EWD's Event Broker interface provides a single, technology-independent syntax, and EWD's compiler will generate the appropriate code for the technology you require (eg PHP, Java Server Pages, CSP, WebLink).
