There is considerable overlap in functionality between the Event Broker and
EWD's Ajax Framework, and the Event Broker can be used to create a number of
Ajax-style effects. However there are some distinct differences:
- The Event Broker uses synchronous calls, whereas EWD's Ajax calls are asynchronous
- EWD's Ajax Framework should be used if you are replacing entire fragments of the container page.
The Event Broker should be used if you are just modifying DOM component values here or there in the
page, eg form field values.
- The Event Broker is a good way of pushing information from the browser to the back-end without
making any other changes to the browser contents itself.
