EWD provides a number of mechanisms for integrating your back-end system (eg Caché, GT.M, PHP etc) with Javascript running on the browser. This is particularly important for Ajax applications where the container page is not swapped out and therefore you have a constantly available Javascript environment.

JSON (Javascript Object Notation) plays an important part in this integration by providing a very efficient mechanism for delivering content into Javascript where it will be held in javascript Objects.

EWD allows you to automatically transfer the contents of EWD Session Arrays, Objects and ResultSets into equivalent Javascript Objects.
